Following the success of the agreement signed in October 2004 between Microsoft and Claxson, by means of which Claxson became the first video content supplier in Latin America for Windows Media Player 10, Claxson’s Broadband and Internet Division has been certified by Microsoft as a Microsoft Windows Media Service Provider in the region.
This certification implies that Claxson’s digital platform, El Sitio Digital Channel (ESDC) complies with all Service Providers’ quality standards as to encryption services, hosting, content management and distribution, and business solutions through the use of Windows Media technology. In this way, ESDC is included in the selected group of services providers for Microsoft Windows Media.
Roberto Cibrián Campoy, Claxson’s Broadband and Internet SVP, said: “Due to the excellent results obtained in the last few months, Claxson is now proud to be awarded the certification as Microsoft Windows Media Service Provider from one of the most innovative companies in the world. This means not only new opportunities to keep developing new technologies but also an incentive for our work with Microsoft, which complements our successful alliances with Brasil Telecom in Brazil, FiberTel in Argentina, and with Playboy Entertainment Group Inc. (PEGI), Fox Sports Latin America, Reuters and Utilísima, at a pan-regional level”.
Paulo Santos, Microsoft’s Corporative Business Development Manager for Latin America, said: “The Latin American digital media market has grown immensely. It is great to have Claxson by our side, as a certified partner, sharing its know how and skills in the region through its products and services”.
Claxson keeps working in the development of audiovisual content distribution digital systems for their use on PC user, cell phone, portable devices, digital TV and IP markets, always based on the formats and languages offered by Microsoft.
